OLMC Ministries

Liturgical: Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers & Greeters

Liturgical Ministers include Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers and Greeters.

Eucharistic Ministers are members of the Parish who assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass.

Lectors are the readers at Mass who proclaim the Scriptures and offer the General Intercessions.

Ushers and Greeters greet parishioners and make them feel welcome when entering Mass. They also ring the church bell before Mass, assist with seating, take up the collection and distribute bulletins.

Spiritual Support Committee

The Spiritual Support Committee provides the parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish with prayers and emotional support when life altering events occur in their lives.  In fulfilling the functions of the Spiritual Support Committee our Parish is creating Unity: a sense of “We are Family” and our Parish Family supports each other in times of need.  God often works through humans through acts of Concern, Empathy, Faith and Affirmation of God’s love for all of us.

Rosary Group

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish currently has four complete Rosary Groups (led by Marguerite Harvey, Tish Hammond-Dwyer, Margaret Power and Bernice Doucet-Pearce).  As we begin our 11th Year of Rosary Prayer, we are pleased to welcome new members to join our 5th Rosary Group – Our Lady of Mount Carmel Rosary Group (led by Judy Connors).

To briefly explain what is required of our members – each member is assigned one decade of the rosary to pray daily (wherever and whatever time is convenient for you) for one month; then on the 1st Sunday of the following month, members rotate to their next assigned decade – a yearly schedule is provided.  As each Rosary Group is made up of 20 members, this means that an entire rosary (20 decades) is prayed daily by each Group for the intentions of our Parish.  Members may also add their own special intentions as well.  Members commit for one year.

The Rosary Groups do not have meetings. This is a great way to donate 5 minutes each day for the needs of our Faith Community as well as strengthening your own personal relationship with Jesus through Mary.

If you are interested in participating in our 5th Rosary Group, please contact the Coordinator, Marguerite Harvey, via email mmharvey@eastlink.ca

If current members have any questions, they may contact their Rosary Group Leader directly:
