At Baptism parents make the choice for their children to become members of Christ’s body. This is the first step in our initiation into the Church.

Confirmation is another Sacrament of Initiation. It is the fulfillment of Christ’s promise to send the Holy Spirit on all his followers to enable them to be his witnesses “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The word “witness” means one who testifies to the truth at the expense of his or her life.

The full effect of Confirmation can therefore only be experienced when a person is ready and willing to receive the Holy Spirit and this mission.

Confirmation for Youth:

For already baptized youth, preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation in our parish is a three year program from levels 7 to 9 in the Religious Education program. All three years are required to receive the Sacrament. Exceptions must be discussed with the Parish Priest.

Confirmation for Adults (18 yrs and up):

Confirmation for adults is part of the RCIA Program (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). For further information on the RCIA please see the RCIA tab under Religious Education.
